Semaglutide for Weight Loss

What is Semaglutide?

Originally developed as a treatment for type 2 diabetes, semaglutide also helps people with weight-related medical problems such as hypertension, type 2 diabetes or elevated cholesterol.

Semaglutide is a modified molecule our bodies make, called GLP-1 agonists. GLP-1 agonists are designed to kick-start your body’s natural mechanisms for weight regulation.

How Does Semaglutide Work?

  1. Slows down your stomach’s emptying process leading to a feeling of fullness and satisfaction with smaller meals.

  2. Slows down intestinal motility so you feel fuller for longer after eating.

  3. Prevents the liver from releasing sugar into the bloodstream, which would otherwise contribute to fat buildup.

  4. Stimulates the pancreas to secrete insulin, reducing blood sugar even more.

  5. Decreases inflammation throughout the body, which leads to Adiponectin release and fat lipolysis.

For people with weight-related medical problems, semaglutide can be an effective choice for helping lose weight and maintaining a healthy body weight. Typically, individuals lose around 1-2 pounds per week, although this can vary. Combining semaglutide with a calorie-restricted diet and regular physical activity will enhance your results.

* *Side effects like nausea and digestive discomfort are common, especially when first starting. Consistency in weekly subcutaneous injections is crucial.
